Welcome!
You can expect to find a welcoming, inclusive group of people who are glad that you have come to worship with us. All people are welcome. We have people of different races, educational levels, sexual orientations, gender identity/expression, languages, disabilities and backgrounds as part of our church family. We have people who are in school, employed, stay-at-home moms and dads, looking for work and retired. We are adults, teens and children seeking to grow spiritually and to love God and neighbor.
What to wear
God’s house does not have a dress code. Worshipers wear everything from denim to dresses or suits. Feel free to wear clothing that makes you feel comfortable.
Parking
Our main parking lot is at the back of the building. You can enter the parking lot from Maple Road or Pleasant Street. Parking for those with limited mobility is located close to the building in the parking lot at the back of the building and in the circle driveway along Maple Road.
Entering the church building
Sunday morning greeters make all who enter our doors feel welcome. You can enter from the circle drive on Maple Road or through the south entrances (we call it the “eagle entrance” by the eagle sculpture) from the parking lot. Greeters can direct you to the Sanctuary or nursery for children ages birth-2 years old if you want to drop them off. Our Welcome Center is by the south entrances where you can find information about our church and is a great resource for our members and guests.
The Worship Experience
You will be greeted again by our ushers as you enter the sanctuary. An usher will provide a bulletin with the order of worship and newsletter of what is happening at church. You may sit wherever you feel comfortable. During the service, fellowship pads are passed for all worshipers to sign. Please sign it so we can greet you after the service and so we can send a welcome email or note during the following week.
What's happening for children on Sunday morning?
We have Sunday School at 10am for children ages three through high school every week. Children begin in worship with their families and exit the sanctuary after the Time with the Younger Church about 15 minutes into the service. We have a church nursery for children ages 3 months through 5 years staffed with professional caregivers. Please know that you are welcome to bring your children into the worship service with you. If you prefer, there are rocking chairs available in the narthex. In addition, there is a family lounge where you may sit and watch the service on a screen.
What Happens After Church
Come to Calvin Hall following the 8:30am and 10:00am services and enjoy a cup of coffee and goodies and connect with people in our congregation.
