Everybody’s Kids

Our Children’s and Family Ministries programs offer faith formation opportunities designed to nurture the spirit and help children and families grow in their understanding of the biblical story.

What's happening for children and youth on Sunday mornings?

We have Sunday School every week for children ages 3 through 12th grade and our AAIM Young Adult class.

Children and youth begin in the Sanctuary and then go to classrooms after Time with the Younger Church (approximately 15 minutes into worship). At 10:50am, both CrossWalks and Worship Wonder classes will transition to our music program. CrossWalks children will go to the New Song Studio and have Children’s Choir from 10:50-11:20am led by Charlotte Marjorie.  The children in Worship Wonder will go to Room 218 and have  Music Makers from 10:50-11:20am led by Jessica Sinta.

K-5th grade

In CrossWalks, children K-5th grade follow a Workshop Rotation Model program. Every five weeks, a theme or Bible lesson is the focus for “workshops” designed to teach that lesson by engaging the children’s multiple intelligences. We have rooms that help define the learning that takes place there. Parable Place (Room 213) - Puppetry and dramatic expression are a natural in this “theater in the round” set in the hills of the Galilee region. Temple School (Room 212) -  Here students actively learn Biblical skills including geography lessons with maps painted around the room. Noah’s Art (Rooms 205-207)- More than just a craft room, children and youth will interpret the stories through many mediums of artistic expression. Martha’s Table (Room 209) - Cooking in an ancient kitchen and eating on the rooftop awaits students in this room. The Red Sea Cinema - The aroma of warm popcorn, theater seats, and movies amid the parted Red Sea provide an exciting place to get an overview of the story.

3 year-olds to Kindergarteners

Worship Wonder is for 3 year-olds to Kindergarteners. In this classroom (Room 208)  the Storyteller leads the children in preparation for worship. One story is told for four weeks using wooden figures and a scripted story. The children work with the story and respond to it through art and other activities. The Storyteller prepares the feast and the children say a prayer of thanksgiving and enjoy the feast. The story is read from a children's Bible. A blessing is given to close the class.

All Abilities Inclusion Ministry (AAIM)

Our All Abilities Inclusion Ministry (AAIM) program works to nurture and form the faith of children with developmental and physical disabilities on an individualized basis. We believe God has given us all unique gifts, and our goal is to include every child in the full life of the church.
